Dunkin’ Is Testing Waffle-Style Hash Brown Breakfast Sandwiches
Most of us tend to stick to the same-old, same-old for breakfast. But Dunkin’ appears to be testing something totally out of the box that will have you heading for your nearest drive-thru.
Instagram account @JunkFoodBanter happened to find a new Dunkin’ breakfast sandwich in New Jersey, and it’s the perfect blend of all your favorite A.M. foods. “Test market item at Dunkin. You see that waffle?” they wrote. “Well it’s actually a hash brown, and thus the Waffle-Style Hash Brown Sandwich was born.”
YES, the sandwich is actually bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese between two waffle-pressed hash browns, @JunkFoodBanter. Just take a moment to let that sink in…
While it sounds—and looks—amazing, @JunkFoodBanter says it’s not perfect. “The hash brown bun ends up being greasy and difficult to eat on the go without making a mess of yourself,” they said. “Other than that? Sure… let’s press more things in waffle presses and make sandwiches out of it.”
Despite the criticism, plenty of people are here for this. “This is genius and idk if it’s not functional, I need it,” one person wrote in the comments. “Want,” someone else said simply
@JunkFoodBanter also apparently has info about new Dunkin’ releases for April and May, which they say include a new Vanilla Pecan Signature Latte, a returning Butter Pecan swirl, oat milk as a non-dairy alternative, and some new Croissant Stuffers—one is triple cheese; the other chicken, bacon, and cheese on an everything croissant.
Dunkin’ FTW! While it remains to be seen if any of this will actually be hitting a Dunkin’ near you (we reached out to Dunkin’ for more information and will circle back when we have it),in the meantime, we can all break out the waffle irons at home.
