A sauce is a must for all Asian meals. 

Simple Sauce Recipe For Asian/Chinese/Indo-Chinese Meals –

(This recipe will make one medium-sized bowl of Asian sauce)

Ingredients –

1 onion/spring onion, finely chopped

3-4 garlic cloves, crushed

2 tbsp soy sauce

Half tbsp vinegar

Half tbsp red chilli sauce

1 tbsp tomato sauce

1 tbsp cornflour

Half tbsp honey

Method –

Step 1 – Heat some oil in a pan and saute onions and garlic. Meanwhile, mix soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce and honey in a bowl. Whisk thoroughly to make a smooth paste.

Step 2 – When the onions turn light brown, add the sauce mixture and saute for 2 minutes.

Step 3 – In a bowl, mix cornflour with 1/4 cup water to make a slurry. Add it to the pan and saute for a minute.

Step 4 – Add some more water and boil till the sauce thickens and you get a perfect consistency. Turn off the stove, your sauce is ready.

If you want your sauce to be spicier, you can add chilli flakes, or if you like it more on the sweeter side, add more honey. This flavourful, sweet and sour sauce will liven up any Asian meal you’ll pair it with.
