Carrie Underwood Drank Red Wine And Sang ‘Drinking Alone’

Carrie Underwood may be a ridiculously successful music superstar, but it’s comforting to know that she’s too is currently spending her time on her couch drinking red wine. The only difference? While we’re in our pajamas singing along off-key to Fine Line by Harry Styles for the millionth time (just me?), Carrie, of course, sounded pitch-perfect performing one of her hit songs this weekend.

It all went down on a ACM Presents: Our Country special stream on CBS All Access, as reported by PopSugar. The special was held on Sunday April 5, which was supposed to be the date of the ACM Awards. Instead, artists like Carrie, Luke Bryan, and Miranda Lambert performed songs from their homes.

Carrie’s choice was her 2018 song Drinking Alone, which she fittingly performed solo on her couch while sipping a huge glass of red wine and just looking like a total queen.

“Right now we have to find things to do while we’re alone together, right? I have an idea,” she quipped while picking up her glass of wine: “This song actually seems to be striking a chord more than ever with a lot of you these days, especially while so many of us are riding things out at home.”

Carrie sounded amazing, hitting every note while making it look like she was not even trying. She finished off her belting session by smiling at the camera and taking another sip of her goblet of vino.

The ACM Awards have been rescheduled for September, and Carrie had a message for fans who were bummed they’d have to wait until then.

“I’m sorry we can’t all be together in person tonight, but I’m glad we can still find ways to be connected and to celebrate community and the healing power of music,” she said.
