Skittles Ice Pops Are Hitting Store Shelves And They Taste Like The Rainbow
Remember those Fla-Vor-Ice pops that were the coolest thing when you were a kid? Skittles got a summertime makeover last year when Mars Wrigley released a new pack that tasted exactly like them. Dollar General exclusively carried the Freeze Pop variety, which had blue raspberry, grape, lemon, orange, and strawberry flavors.
Skittles is going the extra mile this year by releasing actual freezer pops—not just candy that tastes like them. And that new line of Skittles Freezer Pops is already starting to appear on store shelves, according to Instagrammer @CandyHunting. So far, they’ve spotted the frozen treats at the Dollar General.
The new pops come in four flavors of the rainbow: green, grape, orange, and strawberry. Each box contains ten “freeze and eat” pops, according to the packaging. And that’s a very important thing to remember if you’re looking for this product IRL: You’ll find them on store shelves with other room temperature products and not on the freezer aisle.
If Skittles aren’t your jam, Sour Patch Kids also has its own line of freezer pops from Fla-Vor-Ice. At last year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago, they were named the Most Innovative New Products Awards in the novelty category. However, unlike the new Skittles line, there are only two flavor options in each package: blue raspberry and redberry.
If you’re over the age of 21, Costco also sells boozy ice pops from Drake’s. Each pop has 15 percent ABV but is just 80 calories each, which is offers a lot less guilt than your average frozen beverage.
