10-Year-Old Girl Surprised With Disney Parade At Home

- When a New Jersey girl’s “wish” from the Make-A-Wish Foundation was postponed, she was given a sweet Disney surprise that she could enjoy from the safety of her own home.
Over the past month, many people all over the world have changed plans and readjusted schedules due to the coronavirus pandemic. One little girl in particular thought she would have to give up her “wish” from the Make-A-Wish Foundation—but family friends stepped in to save the day.
After being diagnosed with a rare blood disease at just 9 years old, Khloe Sudol was granted her wish to go to Disney World with her family by the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
She and her family were set to venture to Orlando for her dream trip, but Make-a-Wish unfortunately had to postpone all travel-related wishes due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“The health and safety of everyone in our Make-A-Wish community including our wish families is our priority. Due to current medical and public concerns, travel-related wishes have been postponed for the well-being of our wish kids and families, until further notice. We have ensured to our wish families that travel wishes in the near future have been postponed, but not canceled,” Michael Dominick, the Director of Communications at Make-A-Wish New Jersey, said in a statement to the media.
While the trip will be rescheduled when safe to do so, Khloe’s wish became a top priority for her mother’s friend, Shawna Mulford. As the owner of Let’s Party Events, Shawna decided to take matters into her own hands, especially since Khloe had just celebrated her 10th birthday.
On Wednesday, April 1, Shawna went to work to transform Khloe’s yard, as well as the street in front of her house, into the happiest place on Earth, with a 75-car parade of her favorite Disney characters. With everyone from Cinderella and Belle to Olaf and Mickey Mouse in attendance—not to mention a bevy of Disney gifts at the end—it’s safe to say it was a magical day for Khloe.
