Chrissy Teigen Shared Her Night Eggs Recipe

A couple months ago, Chrissy Teigen let us in on a little secret. She can’t sleep unless she feels overly full and the only way to accomplish that feeling is via something she calls “night eggs.” And because Chrissy is the queen of committing to a bit, she finally dropped her night egg recipe.

Chrissy explained that she wakes up frequently throughout the night, which is where the night eggs come in. “I take two hard boiled eggs to bed every night and eat them when I randomly wake up,” she said. Her nightly snack of choice used to be beef jerky before eggs, in case you were curious.

After she mentioned her nightly routine, inquiring minds had questions, mostly about when this habit started and if she ever strays from eggs to some other food. Finally, we know exactly how she makes her night eggs and, unsurprisingly, it’s just a simple hard-boiled egg recipe. One tip Chrissy suggests, though, is adding baking soda and apple cider vinegar into the water to make the eggs super easy to peel afterward.

Because Chrissy is Chrissy, she admitted that it took some liquid courage to film a whole tutorial about something as simple as hard-boiled eggs: “You asked for it. We made this as a joke then I got kind of drunk and threw in an unmeasured amount of baking soda and apple cider vinegar into the boiling water,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.

There ya have it, folks. If you’re hungry at night and want something filling, hard-boiled eggs it is. Simple, but effective.
