How to Make Coffee Jello

Looking for an after dinner dessert for when you have friends over? Do they love coffee?

Try coffee jello. It’s quick and very simple to make. It only takes about fifteen minutes to put together and most of that time is waiting for it to thicken. It also doesn’t require heating oven up, so it’s perfect for the summer, but you can enjoy it year round.

What you’ll need:

Two 1/4 ounces of plain gelatin. It’s in the grocery aisle with the jello, probably in a plain looking box.

A 1/2 cup of cold coffee. I used a flavored coffee, but really you can use any coffee that you like.

3 cups of hot coffee.

A 1/2 cup of sugar. More or less depending on how sweet you like it.

1 pinch of salt

How to make it:

In a large bowl or I used a small, narrow roasting pan, mix the gelatin and iced coffee.

Let it set for ten minutes for it to thicken.

Add the hot coffee, sugar and salt. Stir it until sugar is completely dissolved.

You can pour it into individual serving dishes or keep it in the roasting pan. Put it in the refrigerator until it sets. I noticed that it took sightly longer than normal jello to set. In my refrigerator, it took about three hours, so if you can make before you start cooking your dinner and by the time you’re done eating dinner, it’ll be ready!

And that’s it. When you serve it, you add whipped cream. I also recommend trying it with chocolate or caramel syrup. Also, you can try adding bananas, strawberries, raspberries or anything else you’d like.
