Kourtney Kardashian Loves Keto But Quit

Kourtney Kardashian is the KarJenner sister known for her iconic quotes (yes, we have her to thank for “Kim, people are dying,” lest we forget!), unique style, and interest in all things health and fitness. To know Kourtney is to know she loves a low-sugar, low-carb, gluten-free, sugar-free thing. We love her for it. But that’s why it’s a bit surprising that she tried out the keto diet—and then quit it.

Kourt shared her keto journey in an interview with Health.com. She clarified that her family is still very much gluten-free and dairy-free, but she has stopped following the keto diet.

“I love doing a keto diet, though I’m not doing it now,” she said:

I noticed my body change for the better. I [also] love intermittent fasting. I try to do that all the time. Sometimes if I’ve had a normal day of eating and I’m pretty full, instead of having dinner, I’ll have some bone broth, especially if I’m not feeling well or starting to get sick.

This isn’t the first time she shared her keto journey with the world. When she first tried out the diet back in 2018, she said she experienced some adverse side-effects, but planned to try keto again. Still, even as a self-proclaimed Kardashian expert, I didn’t know she was ever keto, so, um, good to know, I guess!

In her recent interviews, she also shared that she loves all sorts of very un-keto-friendly snacks, but that she would never drink soda. It’s just a bridge TOO FAR.

“That’s just not where I would cheat,” she said. “My mom has a good pantry in Palm Springs filled with Cheetos and Oreos and lots of junk foods,” she went on. “I definitely treat myself. And [recently] Kim and I did a road trip, and we stopped at a gas station and raided it—Funyuns, mini doughnuts, Chex Mix.”

A final tidbit from the interview I will leave you with: It seems we have her to credit for getting the Kardashian-Jenner clan to stop using single-use plastic bottles. And that’s why we stan Kourt in this house.
