Tito’s Vodka Is Working On Making A Hand Sanitizer, And It’ll Be Available Soon

Earlier this month, as hand sanitizer began disappearing from shelves due to the coronavirus, people talked about making their own. Tito’s had to step in to make an announcement, telling them that its vodka should not be used to make hand sanitizer. Now the brand is working on making its own hand sanitizer.

Recently, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trader Bureau (TTB) authorized the production of ethanol-based hand sanitizers by permitted distillers. Tito’s said this means their team is able to “continue working on this process,” indicating that this has been in the wheelhouse for a while.

“Currently, we are testing our formula, procuring necessary components of supplies and packaging, and preparing for production as we wait for the additional ingredients to be delivered to the distillery,” the brand wrote on its Facebook page.

Tito’s has the ingredients and equipment to make the first 24 tons of product over the next several weeks. The Austin-based company plans to make more as needed. Although the brand said it’s still working on packaging, we hope that it has that copper cap.

Oh, and it should go without saying — but something tells us that we do, in fact, need to say it — do not drink the Tito’s hand sanitizer.
