Tom Kerridge weight loss: Chef shares ‘top ingredients’ which helped him lose 12 stone
Tom Kerridge has managed to lose an impressive amount of weight over the last three years. The professional English chef, who has appeared on the Great British Menu, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen, used to weigh around 30 stone. Rather than completely cutting out his favourite food, Tom simply decided to make healthier alternatives of his favourite meals.
Another ingredient Tom recommended was eating lots of fish.
“Oily fish such as salmon, sea bass, trout, tuna, sardines and mackerel are high in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D,” he explained.
While many diets say to avoid eating fruit which can be high in natural sugars, Tom says eating fruit is “better than reaching for a bar of chocolate”.
His “favourites” included apples, bananas, blueberries, grapes, oranges, papaya, strawberries and watermelon.
He said: “I buy grass-fed beef and lamb and free-range pork, chicken and turkey.”
Lastly, Tom recommended adding chillies and spices to recipes.
According to Tom they don’t actually increase dopamine levels but “help to release endorphins”.
Tom Kerridge’s book, The Dopamine Diet is now out in paperback.
