Currently, the world is obsessed with superfoods. These are nothing but foods that are really high in nutritional value. Nevertheless, the latest food trend is to include rare, western nutritional foods, which have recently traversed through our cuisine. Quinoa, kale, avocado and other such foods have suddenly become a rage and we all want to try them out. Suddenly, avocado toast has become almost a breakfast staple in many households. Its paste-like texture and creamy taste makes avocado a healthy alternative to mayonnaise, sandwich spread and cheese. But, that’s not the only reason why avocado is so popular in India now.
Avocado is one of the most nutritious fruits. It is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains a good amount of vitamins C, E, K, and minerals like potassium and magnesium. The fruit is also said to be good for heart health and smooth digestion. Although, avocado has been a common food in western diets, our palates are not wired to accept its bland taste. If you also find it difficult to deflect from your desi spicy diet, you can make this ‘masaledar’ avocado chaat instead of the boring avocado toast.
