If Brewed Properly, Coffee Can Possibly Lengthen Your Life – Study
If you happen to be a coffee lover, then you can relate to the need of caffeine-kick to boost energy. However simple it sounds, making a perfect cup of coffee is not an easy job (ask any coffee addict!). But along with its popularity, this beverage has its share of negative impacts due to the caffeine content. Several studies have found that caffeine negatively impacts heart health. It has often been dubbed that caffeine may lead to both long and short term health risks.
But there is nothing to worry – as per the findings of a new study, if brewed properly, coffee can be good for your health. This new long-term study, published in European journal of Cardiology, indicated that if prepared the right way, coffee can even extend your life; and the method is proper filtration.
According to the study, unfiltered coffee contains substances that increase blood cholesterol; and using filter removes these substances making “heart attacks and premature death less likely”. The study further stated that methods like boiling or using different kinds of coffee press may increase the risk of heart-related issues.

The study followed over a half million Norwegian men and women between the ages of 20 and 79 over a 20-year period. According to study author Dag Thelle, “The finding that those drinking the filtered beverage did a little better than those not drinking coffee at all could not explained by any other variable such as age, gender or lifestyle habits, so we think this observation is true.”
